In September 2025, musicians of all ages gathered at Athenry Music School to learn nature-inspired traditional tunes with some of Galway’s finest musicians—Fergal Scahill, Ruth Smith, and Katharine Mac Mághnuis. Collaborating with the Galway County Council Biodiversity Office this event celebrates the connection between music and nature, featuring tunes like “Three Deer and a Hare” and “Salmon Tails Up the River.” Supported by Creative Ireland and Galway County Council, the project encourages active listening and inspires the next generation to champion biodiversity through music and community collaboration.
