Purpose of Privacy Statement
The purpose of this privacy statement is to describe, in clear and concise terms, the personal data the non-statutory public consultation project will process, the purpose(s) for which personal data will be processed, how it will be processed, the legal basis for such processing, details of any third parties with whom personal data will be shared and the duration for which personal data will be retained. The statement also provides details of how access may be obtained to the Council’s policies, procedures and practices in relation to the protection of personal data and to information regarding the rights of individuals under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)/data protection legislation.
What Personal Data is Processed
Details of personal data processed by the non-statutory public consultation project are as follows: · Individual name and email address details (optional).
Purpose for which Personal Data is Processed
Personal data is processed by the non-statutory public consultation project in order to
·Capture the opinions of individuals/groups/organisations on heritage for the purposes of preparing the County Galway Heritage & Biodiversity Plan 2024-2030.
· Include contact details on the Heritage & Biodiversity Office mailing lists for the purpose of issuing information on heritage news and events or funding opportunities (optional).
How Personal Data is Processed
The following processing of personal data will be carried out by the non-statutory public consultation project:
· Collection, recording, organisation, structuring, collation, use and storage of opinions on heritage for the purposes of preparing the County Galway Heritage & Biodiversity Plan 2024-2030.
· Collection and recording on the Heritage & Biodiversity Office mailing lists and use for the purpose of issuing information on heritage news and events or funding opportunities (optional).
The Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
The legal basis, under GDPR, for the processing of personal data by the non-statutory public consultation project is as follows:
· The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for the purpose of non-statutory public consultation project. Since the non-statutory public consultation project is relying on consent for the processing of personal data, data subjects have the right to withdraw consent to the processing of their personal data at any time.
Sharing of Personal Data with Third Parties
Galway County Council will not be sharing any personal data that is processed by the non-statutory public consultation project with any third parties.
Retention of Personal Data
Details of Galway County Council’s policies in relation to the retention of personal data are available from its Corporate Services Department and on its data protection webpage at www.galway.ie . In accordance with these policies, Galway County Council will retain the personal data processed by non-statutory public consultation project for a period of 5 years.
