National Tree Week 2018 runs from Sunday March 4th until Sunday March 11th. Community groups and schools throughout Galway are planning tree planting activities and events to celebrate trees. The Environment Section of Galway County Council have some free trees available. If you are interested, please contact environment@galwaycoco.ie . For information about tree planting see the Tree Council website https://treecouncil.ie/tree-advice/how-to-plant-a-tree/.

Trees have numerous benefits for people, landscapes, wildlife and the environment. If you want to learn more about trees and woodland in Galway, and planting the right tree in the right place have a look at the publication ‘Galway’s Living Landscapes Part 2: Trees and Woodland’ in the publications section.
